Where it started

It started off as a small lump on my eyelid. As the days progressed it became more inflamed and painful. I declined all plans because I was too embarrassed to leave my apartment.

I scoured Google searching for a fast and easy fix, but unfortunately didn’t have much luck. After hours of researching, I learned that applying a warm compress was the most recommended treatment by medical professionals.

Limited product selection

I wandered the aisles of CVS and discovered only a couple options for warm compresses that were made for the eyes. The products were similar which involved heating the mask in the microwave for a short period of time.

Ophthalmologist recommendation

I saw an ophthalmologist since my eye wasn’t improving. I left the office with the same recommendation to apply a warm compress.

However, I was told the frequency was critical to help my stye drain naturally. I was instructed to apply a hot compress for 10-15 minutes 3-6 times a day, which I quickly realized was difficult to adhere to.

Short lived relief

Microwave heating was inconsistent and didn’t last long. It was either too hot or too cool and I couldn’t get the right temperature. I burnt my eyelid from gel masks that got too hot. I was constantly running back and forth from the microwave trying to achieve the frequency recommended by my doctor. I thought to myself, “There has to be a better way to do apply a warm compress.”

Eye can make it

I tried every heated eye mask on the market and was left unsatisfied, so I decided to create my own. I experienced first-hand the challenges of treating eye conditions like styes, chalazions, and dry eyes.

Through knowledge gained from ophthalmologists and my own research, I’ve perfected the ultimate heated mask designed specifically for eyes. I’m excited to share my brand, Eystro and help your eyes feel the best.
